UnCubicle Entrepreneur Spotlight: Loren Nason

UnCubicle Entrepreneur Spotlight: Loren Nason

Today, I’m excited to introduce you to Loren. He’s been a dear friend and someone I’ve turned to for web help for nearly a decade. Not only is he actively pursuing an awesome side hustle, but he also embodies the traits that really make someone a successful side hustler!

Even though he’s a ‘Windows’ guy, I truly admire him and his commitment to finding his calling, building a business around helping other and doing something he truly loves and is passionate about.

Where are you in your Uncubicle Journey?

I’m working on a side hustle, but still work full-time in the IT Managed Service Provider and Infrastructure as a Service industry.

When did you start your UnCubicle journey and why?

I started it as soon as I took this job. I freelanced for ten years and made a bad mistake and had to go back to workforce. I took the job because needed money and wanted to start over in a different direction with new ventures.

What’s a typical day in your world look like?

Get up, “S.S.S”, eat food, feed kiddo and drop at school, then to work. Work on work stuff and occasionally answer side hustle emails. Go home, eat dinner, exercise and work on sidehustlesites.com

What was the biggest challenge you’ve encountered in your journey

Starting over and then figuring out a direction that I really wanted to go in.

If you could do one thing differently when you started your side hustle, what would it be?

When I failed the freelancing, it was due to not spreading the income around and instead had it tied up in a few clients. I would not do that again.

If you could give one piece of advice to someone considering escaping the cubicle what would it be?

Take it slow. Give each new client a really welcome feeling and if need be, be honest and tell them that what you’re working on is actually a side hustle.
